In a recent article, I discussed how to sync your zotero library with your box account. However, as many have informed me, there seems to be a problem in setting up the “initial” folder. In fact, I just encountered this same exact problem today on a new computer that I am setting up.
Today I found the solution. So, after you follow the steps in my previous article, if you don’t see any “zotero” folder on your local computer try the following:
- Go to your
box.com
drive. If you see a newly created folder namedzotero
, that’s great! What happened here is that zotero created the folder on box without enabling desktop sync on that folder. All you have to do is enable desktop sync on that folder. - If you do not see a
zotero
folder onbox.com
, do the following: got tozotero->preferences->Sync
and then click the “Reset” tab. Then, select “Reset File Sync History”. Now force zotero to do a sync and you should see a “zotero” folder on box.com.- If you still don’t see a “zotero” folder locally, but there’s one on box.com, simply enable desktop sync for that folder
That should do the trick. Good luck.
